What a great visit with Dr. Bivins! Aaron and I drove up on Friday and got to have a BPP ultrasound which is one of the fancier ones where we get to measure all the arms, legs, tummies, heads, spines, etc. AND THEN....we find out the weight of each one! OK, here it is:
Baby A Little Girl: 2.11 lbs (8th percentile)
Baby B Little Boy: 3.5 lbs (51 percentile)
Baby C Little Girl: 3.0 lbs (26 percentile)
(percentile meaning that that many babies out of 100 are born smaller than ours)
I really like that 3 lb number. Now, if only the little one will catch up! I, on the otherhand, have certainly caught up. I gained 7lbs in the past week - a record so far!
Wendy, the ultrasound tech, tried to get a 4D picture for us but the babies are so crammed in there that we could not get a good view of their faces. We will try again next week but the chances are slim and almost nill for Baby A whose head is literally squished b/w my pelvic bones (has been this way for the past two months and her feet are all the way up to my breast bone). Wendy also said that the baby boy's head has a different shape than the girls...long and lean. But everyone is getting chubby cheeks which is adorable to me!
Angelyn, the nurse practioner, also visted for a second and gave us a happy statistic...30 weeks is the point they consider babies to have a 100% survival rate. So every extra day now only means less NICU time - for each day I carry them = 2 less days in the NICU.
We also had the chance to talk with Dr. Bivens who said things are progressing as normal as can be. He didn't see any reason for me to make an immediate move to Savannah but I still think that we should be heading up there soon. He didn't mention this yesterday but during our first appt., they stated that the office has a statistic of triplet delivery being 32-33 weeks. That is right around the corner.
He also gave the schedule of doctors for Oct and Nov. Unless I deliver the weekend of 33 weeks (Oct 17-19) or anytime during my 36th week (Nov 10-16) - Dr. Bivens won't be at the hospital. I like the other doctors OK but was really hoping Bivens would do the surgery. He said if it made me feel better, next week we could schedule my C-Section for that week in Nov and let that be the goal I set. Sounds good to me! If I could carry them that long, chances are excellent that I would be able to bring these babies home with us. I like that!
I am resting today. Yesterday was long and really wore me out. Aaron is outside working in the yard...the weather looks beautiful. Tomorrow I turn 30 weeks and will post another belly shot for everyone...seems to be what everyone loves to see!
Welcome! Aaron and I wanted to create a website so that family and friends will be able to follow along with this wonderful experience. Thanks for visiting!

What a lazy day....
It seems that about every third day, my energy crashes and I just become lethargic. Today was my third day. Mom came over and mostly worked outside while I napped. No TV, no reading, no thank you notes...I just layed around. I did, however, discover a new trick with the babies...they like banannas! I ate one this morning and the two on the right just started moving and grooving! It was nothing short of wild to watch! I will try to catch it next time on video as most of you have never seen more than one baby going at the same time much less three!
Last night Aaron and I sat out on the porch for a bit (I know...bedrest does not mean porch but I am approaching two months and a little fresh air has to be good for me) and it was the first time that I really enjoyed this Fall weather. It was wonderful. I can't believe so much changes on the "outside world" when you are inside for such a long period of time!
No new pics to really share but I thought I would close with ol' smelly General Dog enjoying the recent weather as well....

Happy Birthday Luke!
Jennifer (Shipley) and Mitchell Lane welcomed the arrival of baby Luke this evening at 6:44 p.m. weighing 7.8 lbs and 21.5 inches!
Shipley, a name I just can't let go of - her maiden name and what all the girls have always called her - have been wonderful friends for over 14 years. We knew each other when she lived on St. Simons and we were in fourth grade but really became friends when she moved back home to finish high school and was placed in my homeroom. She is a dear friend and one that I truely cherish.
Not too terribly long ago, Shipley and I both found out that we were pregnant. She was ten weeks further than I was and we were both so happy. We were able to really enjoy the first part of the summer together, swimming at her parents, shopping for clothes that would fit, praying that their house in ATL will sell and exchanging stories about all the crazy changes that were happening with our bodies.

September and October seemed so far away. And now....here it is. Luke has arrived and I am next. Shipley made the whole pregnancy and now the birth (I spoke to her at 4:00 and she "no problem. piece of cake") look so easy. I am so proud of her and now am looking forward to playdates, friendships, overnights, family vacations, and possibly a marriage way down the road ;)
Just like the children from the friendships that my mother shares with her childhood friends, I hope that our children will always have each other to count on and to eventually grow into beautiful adults together. Congratulations Ship and Mitchell - I can't wait to meet the little guy!

29 Weeks!
Well, we made it to week 29 which is super! 30 has been our most recent goal so we are almost there. Although, with each completion brings on new concerns. I have spent the entire day worrying about when to make my move to Savannah permenantly. My heart is telling me to get there pretty soon (30 weeks or Oct. 1st).
But where do I go? My grandparents have a house in Savannah but there are a few concerns (no cable, no internet, the showers are too small for my chair and the tub is too dangerous) I shouldn't be greedy but I just want a place I can go that is stress-free and comforting while I wait. I am afraid I would go crazy at their place with nothing to do with my days. So I sat and worried all day today about what the next few weeks hold for me. I have had more contractions today than I have had in a week.
Aaron finally got home - using the term "finally" loosely, he has been wonderful about getting home early and not staying late at the office. We talked and I calmed down a bit. He thinks that he may have somewhere we could stay but won't find out until tomorrow.
On a good note, I had lots of good friends stop by today to check on me. Thanks Joan for lunch, Katie and Ellen for the lap desk, Susan for dinner and Dante for the final episodes of Season Two of Lost which we will watch tonight!
Reflecting on this pregnancy, it just seems that things are flying by. I love being pregnant and the babies are getting stronger everyday. Recently, their kicks literally make my shirt fly off my belly! I am happy that they are getting stronger for that means they will be strong when they are born but it also means they are going to be born soon. I may never feel these things again and it makes me sad. I wish I could bottle it up and pull it out one day when I am feeling sentimental. I am not scared at all about being a mother. I am going to love these babies with every thread of my soul but I know I will selfishly miss having them all to myself like I do now.
I will keep everyone posted about the pending move. Cross your fingers this works out and we won't be on I-95 after one of my waters breat and I am labor! And here is what everyone wants to see....Just how big does someone pregnant with triplets get?

Aaron's 33rd Birthday
So I guess this is Aaron's "Year of the Three!"
Today is Aaron's birthday and I surprised him with tickets to his favorite band www.ofarevolution.com who are playing tonight in Charleston, SC. I figured this will be the last big hoorah that he will have for awhile and have them set up in a hotel right in the middle of the Market! He woke up and started playing their music almost immediately. I am glad that he gets to go but I have to say that I am a lil' bit jealous. However, in the state I am in, I would be absolutely miserable anyway. Everyone was instructed to keep their cell phones on vibrate...just in case!

Before they got on the road, we were able to enjoy a beautiful cake that his mom and dad sent for the big day. Being that I can't get out and do all the things a birthday morning entails (breakfast, presents, cake, etc.) this was very much appreciated! His parents also sent a package and my mom had a beautiful card for him so he did have a few things to open.

I think Aaron was a little worried about leaving me (he kissed me three different times before getting in the car) but I am feeling great and know that he will be back tomorrow. Plus, if I did have to go to Savannah, he would probably beat me there. Savannah is right in the middle of Brunswick and Charleston.
Baby: I hope you have a wonderful night tonight - You definitely deserve it. Happy Birthday and I love you so very much.

Just getting the hang of this!
So how does my first attempt at a blog look? I am contemplating getting my brother-in-law to snaz up things but I think it is pretty good for a beginner! I play on a website called Triplet Connection and today one of the girls posted about regrets. Many moms wished that they had created a blog to capture this time - along with more pregnancy photos and videos of the first few months of the baby regardless of what they looked like - so I am going to attempt to document these days, as boring as they seem!
Well, I have completed another day in the countdown. Sunday will make 29 weeks which is awesome. Hopefully another 5 weeks to go. Yesterday, Mom and I travelled to Savannah to see the doctor. Everything is looking pretty good - my cervix continues to shorten but at least they let me come home! They have started talking about me making plans to make Savannah home pretty soon though. Still trying to figure where the best place for me to stay would be. Mom wants me on campus at a place called "Mother's House" but from what I understand, it is pretty yucky (only three channels, food from the cafeteria, etc.). I really want somewhere where I am comfortable and able to relax while we wait for these the guys. We'll see.
So everyone wants to see a picture of what I am looking like these days...not that it is very pretty.....

A New Adventure in Bedrest
Even though this is my 7th week of bedrest, I am just now figuring out how to blog! Hopefully this will be a fun avenue for everyone to follow our journey having triplets.
