First Tooth...I mean TEETH!

Wylie now has two little bottom teeth! I can't believe it....

A Comforting Dream...

Have you ever had one of those dreams that stuck with you throughout the day? As short as it seemed to be, I have had visions of it all morning. I walked into a room where the babies were sitting. All of a sudden they looked up at me smiling and were able to hold their arms up for me to pick them up. And that was it....

Each day brings something new with the babies. This dream is probably the next skill they will learn and I find myself so eager and excited. Watching them grow and learn each milestone has been the most wonderful experience I could ever imagine. What miracles they are!

We had a busy weekend and poor Aaron was home alone most of it juggling at least two babies if not three! All my girlfriends came into town for baby showers, engagements and Baptisms. Friday night I headed over to Polly's new home for a get together with some of us. Susan and Michael had gotten engaged earlier in the day and I had hoped to see her new ring! Alas....I headed home before they even arrived. Granted, I left at 10:30 but still - unable to hang like I used to!

Saturday, I took little Maggie to Polly's shower. She was SUPER!!!! Not one cry the entire afternoon! She just smiled and napped while everyone passed her around. Just one of the girls! I think Jenny and Susan were the only ones with cameras so I hopefully will be able to post some pics as soon as they send them (hint hint).
On Sunday, Luke was Baptised at St. Simons Presbyterian Church. I decided to take Wylie since these two boys are bound to be best friends like their mamas! Again...super behavior! I really have some fabulous babies :)

Talk about milestones - On to highchairs already! Of course...no picture of Maggie. She has no interest in solids yet.




One of the sweetest moments happened when I saw an old friend Amy Spearman Certain at Polly's shower. As soon as she saw Maggie, she held her little hand and stated "I am so glad to finally meet you....we prayed very hard for you little one." It sent me back to those scary days while pregnant - something that seems so far removed to me now. I am so thankful for all the prayers we received during that time. It remains something I will always hold dear in my heart. Thank you Amy and everyone else who helped get these little angels safely here.

Happy Mother's Day!

This was one of my presents for Mother's Day! Aren't they beautiful!!!! I have looked at them a million times and still think they are the most precious things I have ever seen!!!!

What a special feeling it was to wake up today and realize that I finally get to celebrate being a mother! Aaron wanted me to sleep in but I really couldn't stand thinking about not spending time with him and the babies. After feeding them, Aaron fixed me breakfast and gave me a beautiful necklace with the babies birthstone in the center. It will be something that I always cherish.

He then mowed the grass AND prepared a wonderful Lowcountry Boil for my sister, her family, Mom and two neighbors who all came over for lunch. All in all, it has been a fabulous day! The house is now quiet and everyone is asleep. I am tired but don't want head on to bed just yet - Not sure I want this day to end....

Neonatal Development Visit

Yesterday we took the babies to the Development Clinic to see how they are doing in comparison to full term babies. How fortunate and blessed are we! All three babies scored exceptionally well with no outside referrals except for Katie who will see physical therapist due to a tight muscle in her left shoulder (which was probably caused from her positioning in the womb - not a huge deal, common with multiples and should be able to be fixed with some stretching exercises). All three babies were high on the charts with growth also - Katie and Wylie are in the 95th percentile and Maggie scored in the 75th percentile compared to other 32 weekers. All in all, it was a great report and the best Mother's Day present I could dream of!

Beautiful Sounds

As I write this, I am trying to take in the beautiful sounds that fill my home these days. All three of the babies are gently cooing themselves to sleep. Talking to each other and laughing at what the others do. Maggie with her smart sputtering, Wylie with a new pitch that chokes him each time with a cough and Katie with her sweet giggling. I have never heard such beautiful sounds...

Will these days ever be long enough? I doubt it. Time is going by much too quickly. This magical chapter of our lives is flying by. Already almost 7 months. I truly believe that these are the happiest days of my life...when all my babies are still babies and home with me. What a wonderful time it is.

Sorry...just feeling a bit sentimental!

On Monday night we invited a couple who are expecting triplets in September. They both jumped right in helping put the babies down before dinner. I am so excited for them and hope our chaos hasn't shaken their confidence!!! Ashly....STAY OFF THOSE FEET AND DRINK YOUR WATER :)



Thursday I travelled up to Savannah again to see Nena and Pepaw. They will be heading back to Indiana this month so we wanted one last visit before Christmas. What a blessing it is to have them as Grandparents. I wish we could visit everyday because of how much they love these babies!





It seems like Aaron and I have been having a lot of great family time. Sticking close to home and enjoying just hanging out. On Friday, we walked downtown and enjoyed "First Friday" where all the shops stay open late. The babies were sung their first lullaby...What A Wonderful World.

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
They'll learn much more.....than Ill never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world



Two of our neighbors volunteered to watch the babies on Saturday night so we could have a date night. We headed over to the island and ate dinner outside at Gnat's. What a treat...Thanks Michael and Sandy!!! On Sunday, Aaron and Katie hung out watching SportsCenter together - yes, Katie is really that big!





I finally finished reading the Twilight saga...if you haven't read them yet and you are a girl - they are a must! I am not a huge reader and finished all four books in no time while raising triplets - They were that good! I am sad now that I don't have anymore to read - I fell in love with the Cullens :) So maybe now I will have a bit more time for posting! Love you all - Karen
