I was able to go out with the girls on Friday night to celebrate Shipley's birthday. It was a night full of Mexican food, laughs and then some live music...my kind of night! It lasted a little longer than I expected but Aaron did great with the babies. Although, he states that I pick up the babies entirely too soon when they start to cry - when I got home, he had had Wylie on his chest since 10:00 because he was a little fussy. I wish he would do a whole night by himself and see how long he could stand letting them "cry a little more!" I don't think he would/could do it...he is a bigger softy than I am with these babies :)
Saturday was pretty quiet. Maggie rolled over for the first time! Since her head is becoming kind of flat in the back, I started putting her on her stomach as much as possible. I put her down and then about ten minutes later, she began screaming. I raced into the nursery to find her laying on her back! I think it terrified her!!!
Sunday I attended the funeral of the chaplain at hospice when I worked there as a social worker. Woody was such a gentle and kind person. I was really sad to hear that he had passed away. Unfortunately, only the "out crowd" of us that left after new management came in from Atlanta and a single current nurse attended. Shame on them...he was such a very important part of our mission and to our families. A pediatric family that we worked with did attend the service - it was so wonderful to see them again. This was only my second pediatric patient and the only one that we had for a good bit of time. It warmed my heart to see them and to hear how well they are doing despite such difficult times.
The babies are doing great. Katie and Wylie are almost up to 14lbs and little Maggie is coming in around 12lbs. They are up size 2 diapers and clothin in 6months. I can't believe how fast they change. It is becoming difficult for me to remember when they were teeny tiny. I HAVE to call the photographer and get some professional pics done soon...on my list to call today!
Hope everyone had as good a weekend as we did. Here are some recent pics :)
