Christmas 2009

What a wonderfully crazy Christmas it has been!!! I know I haven't posted in FOREVER but I am going to try to update as much as I can. Gone are the days where the babies will hang out in an exersaucer or playpen while I can get other stuff done (blogging for one....cleaning for another!) They are everywhere....on top of things, under things, behind things, hanging from things, using each other as ladders to reach things! You can't leave them for a minute. Up until now, I thought having three babies was not much different from one. We can handle the extra bottles, diapers, baths, meals, etc. But this toddler game is a whole other story. I now know what everyone means!

On Christmas Eve, Mom, Aaron and I took the babies to their first candlelight service. While there were no tears, the wrangling it took to keep them from taking off down the aisle wore all of us out. At one point, when the collection plate was coming around, Aaron whispered "I would double it if the pastor would hurry up and excuse everyone!" While he wasn't serious, we were all thinking the same thing!

For Christmas, we had a wonderful morning home. The babies loved all their gifts from Santa including two Madame Alexander baby dolls for the girls and a cool circus fort for Wylie. Lots of books, some cardboard bricks and a few other things. We all piddled around the house until 5ish when we loaded everyone up for the trip to Savannah and Nena and Pepaws house. There were over 40 people milling around their house....so no pictures. I was literally scrambling the entire time. Was not fun. We did get a picture of all the multiples for the first time though!!! We have two sets of identical cousins and our triplets which was really neat. We got to duck out early and got home around 10:30. Everyone crashed.

The day after Christmas was dinner at my Mom's. Again...no pictures. It is just too chaotic trying to manage everyone, eat, open gifts. I regret it but there isn't much option. Perhaps I will do better next year. Mom, of course, went overboard with the presents....please Mom - next year, one gift. She got me some really wonderful Evelyn and Talman lotions and soaps, a Trapp candle which smells heavenly, Aaron got a game for his Wii and the new release of his favorite band O.A.R. The babies got their first puzzles, bathing suits and books. It was a really nice and busy evening. Thanks Mom!!!

Yesterday was my first day home alone with the babies. Maggie has gotten some sort of yucky cold which I am sure the other two will follow. We all stayed in pj's and I actually napped when they did. Today, I must pack away everything.

Hope everyone had as wonderful of a Christmas as we did. Having children sure adds a sense of magic to the Season!

Thanksgiving 2009

Thanksgiving was a pretty quiet event this year. We invited Chris and Dante over for dinner, Mom stopped by to help with the babies, and I got to set the table with all my beautiful things!

We have so much to be thankful for. Sometimes it just blows me away how much I have in my life. We have three wonderful, healthy, beautiful children. My husband is the best man I have ever met. Our parents are healthy and love us and these babies more than anything. Our siblings are big parts of our lives. We have great friends. My home is warm. I have a home. There are just so many blessings....

Some say that your life changes when you hit 30. That your 20's are the best. I disagree. This has been the best chapter in my life so far. I just don't see how it could be any better than it is right now.....

Wylie's First Word: Bah

After waiting to see if it was a fluke....I think that we have a first word!!!! Bah!!!! Translation: Ball.

Wylie really is able to recognize and say "ball" every time I show him one. This is getting way too much fun :)

BathTime!

I finally got up enough courage to begin bathing the babies in the real bathtub. Just recently, when we would try to cram the babies into the kitchen sink, they would become miserable...I guess I need to listen to their ques a little better! They simply have gotten too big! Now, they LOVE bathtime again! I can bathe two at a time and they just play and play until the water gets cold. It definitely keeps them busy for awhile.
